Corner Cottage was built in the 1880s and has been sympathetically restored and now offers exceedingly comfortable and surprisingly roomy accommodation. The cottage has all the benefits of modern amenities while retaining its “olde worlde” charm. But don’t just take our word for it, have a look at our gallery of pictures to see it for yourself.
You can remotely wander around and navigate the cottage exactly how you want to. Revisit a room and get the flow of Corner Cottage at your own leisure and gauge the layout of the cottage, with its king-size double en-suite and twin-bedrooms at the front, king-size double with an additional cot bed (140 x 70 cm mattress size) and twin-bedrooms and bathroom at the rear which allows separation of the occupants. We also provide a travel cot. This arrangement is particularly attractive to two generations or two families. In addition, downstairs a similar arrangement exists with the front lounge and children’s playroom/hall being separated by the rear hall and kitchen from the rear lounge/dining room – enabling guests to have their own space. Both rooms have Smart TV’s and SAT boxes plus a games box with games, DVD player and many films.
Update – In response to enquiries from potential guests who have someone they wish to bring on holiday but who can’t manage stairs we have had a single pull-down bed installed in one of the lounges in Corner Cottage and there is an adjacent downstairs cloakroom which features a toilet and sink.
Outside there is a secure high walled courtyard garden with a lockable gate together with very secure off street parking for two cars in our garage and carport. We live in the cottage on a very regular basis and as a consequence you will be holidaying in our home with all the home comforts that you would expect in a “home” but not usually in a “holiday let”, e.g. hair dryers, very modern fully equipped kitchen, baby equipment etc.

We had a fantastic time here at the cottage, plenty of room and located well with the pubs and Co-Op and plenty of amenities in the cottage. Great walled garden to sit in drinking late and a great idea to have games and PS2 for the kids. We will come back!
Willott-Field Family (TripAdvisor Guest) June 2019
We had a very good holiday with all the family; our sons and their wives plus two grandchildren. The weather was perfect and the house beautifully equipped everything we needed. The grandchildren enjoyed the toys and the three-wheeled buggy proved very useful. Thank you very much for allowing us to stay in your Snettisham Cottage.
Ray and Pat (Ilford, Greater London) July 2006
Another very enjoyable stay, this time with lots of sunshine and only the odd shower. We re-visited all our old haunts – old Hunstanton, Holkham House and Sands, the lavender at Heacham – and also discovered Bircham Windmill, a great place for children and cake and fresh bread lovers! Nearby the farm shop at Great Bircham is under new management and sells good local produce. We hope to return next year.
Tessa & John & Daughters & Granddaughters (Chelmsford, Essex) August 2012
Great place with lots of space for 3 generations. Great base for exploring Norfolk. Furniture and deco could do with an update to make this a perfect family getaway. Another very pleasant stay here. Birdwatching fantastic. Snettisham villagers very friendly. *Note from Bernard: Early in 2020, in response to our guest's comments, we have carried out a comprehensive update and improvement programme.*

We had a lovely relaxing week at your cottage. The peaceful surroundings made it seem like we were stepping back in time, especially the Steam Train trip and the restored Railway Station which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage is a “Tardis”, we had no idea it was so large, it seems to go on and on! Thank you for helping us to join the sailing club.

We had a most enjoyable week (weather quite good too!) and all agreed it is a most delightful cottage, so well equipped and in a lovely area. We used all the rooms except the children's bedroom as the youngsters moved the cot into their room after the first night. We were very warm and comfortable. Thanks again for everything.

Sara & Family Bubble (Cambridgeshire, Essex & London) - September 2020
Once again another very good week at the Cottage. Got in to look at the Church this time (key held at Post Office). Enjoyed home cooked meal at the Queen Victoria. P.S. Couldn’t find a dictionary! Note From Bernard: We challenge guests to identify any deficiencies in the cottage inventory as we believe we have equipped it as a home and not as a holiday let. There is a dictionary there now & a Thesaurus!
Eileen, Ken, Barbara, Wendy, Simon and 2 year old (Market Harborough, Leicestershire) July 2010
We had a fantastic stay at the cottage with our friends over a 10-day period. The cottage has everything you want to keep both old and young entertained which made our break enjoyable throughout. There is so much to do within a 20–30 minute drive. You are perfectly placed to experience all that Norfolk has to offer. We will be returning next year to make more memories xxx.
