In the village there are local shops, and pubs which serve excellent food. One of the notable pubs is the Rose and Crown, which has won many awards including the prestigious “Norfolk Dining Pub of the Year”. Snettisham offers something for everyone, no matter your age, no matter the weather. It is handily placed for the larger traditional holiday resort of Hunstanton to the North and the old town of King's Lynn to the South. Also close are the famous sandy beaches at Brancaster, Holme next the Sea, and Thornham. Other attractions nearby include the Royal Estate of Sandringham surrounded by numerous picture postcard carrstone cottage villages. Norfolk Lavender at Heacham, bird watching at the nearby RSPB Reserves of Snettisham and Titchwell where visitors are always welcome and Thetford Forest with its fabulous walks and wildlife. Snettisham is a perfect location for discovering both historic West Norfolk and the beautiful North Norfolk Coast with its beaches, golf courses, walks, bird watching, sailing, etc. For the shoppers Burnham Market offers high quality shopping in a Georgian setting while Swaffham boasts its attractive triangular market place which on Saturdays hosts its famous open-air market and public auction. From Snettisham it is an easy drive to the visitor attractions in the neighbouring counties, Ely, Cambridge, Newmarket and the Duxford Imperial War Museum with its unique aircraft collection to name but a few. | top of page | |
